An empowered woman makes an empowered society. For the spiritual growth and enlightenment, the active participation of the women in church is very significant and relevant and their involvement promotes Christian fellowship and enhances the feeling of social responsibility.

Immanuel Mar Thoma Parish is blessed with a very lively, active and committed Sevika Sangham established on 5th April 2018 after the consecration of the Parish on 4th April 2018. The main mission of the organization is Mission work and Charity.

Main activities:

  1. Bible Study and intercessory prayer meetings on every Tuesdays @6:00 pm in the Prayer Hall at Mar Thoma Centre.
  2. Chain Prayer Service involving all the members of Sevika Sangham on the third Saturday of every month from 6:00 am to 6:00 PM.
  3. Visit the aged, the bed ridden and patients at their home /hospitals.
  4. Assist the Church service on Sevika Sangham Day in September.
  5. Maintain a Sevika Sangham Choir and perform for Sevika Sangham Day, Harvest Festival Programs, and Christmas Carol Services.
  6. Conduct Shakha Kalamela competitions (Bible Reading, Singing, Bible Quiz, Elocution) and actively take part in the Kuwait Mar Thoma Sevika Sangham Centre meetings, programs, and Quiz competitions.
  7. During Harvest Festival prepare food items for sale through various stalls and prepare food items for ‘Good Friday Kanji’.
  8. Conduct ‘Woman Fellowship Meeting’ in coordination with the parish.
  9. Source income through Breakfast sales, Cake Sale, Duppy Collection, Offertory, Donations from members etc.,
  10. Extend financial assistance to eligible economically weaker ones for education, medical, house and marriage support.
  11. Assist in Sunday School activities and serve as Sunday School teachers.
  12. Serve as Volunteers (medical and non-medical) in parish Medical Camp.

Thus our ‘Sevikas’ contribute physically, intellectually, and spiritually to the mission and ministry of the Church spread Christianity.
